Weekend of Sailfish and Dolphin

Welcome aboard the REEL BUSY and to our St. Lucie Inlet Fishing Report. It was a beautiful weekend and the sailfish and dolphin took turns for us.

We had an excellent dolphin bite on Saturday in 300 to 400 feet of water. We caught a couple of gaffers and a dozen schooling dolphin of 3 to 5 pounds. There was a few sailfish caught around us but we only had one shot and never got a hook in the little guy.

We had a decent sailfish bite the next day in the same depth and never had a dolphin bite. We had 3 sailfish bites on our morning 1/2 day, a single and a double header. Would have been nice to get dinner with our dance but a pair sailfish dancing off the transom is always an awesome sight to see.

There’s been a few wahoo and some big blackfin tuna scattered about in about 200 feet of water. Kingfish, bonito and barracuda have been abundant on most days around the reefs and wrecks.

The wind and seas have finally settled down and the fishing should continue to be good to excellent on most days. Get hooked-up with Reel Busy Charters. Call Capt. Wayne Brodeur 772-341-6609 www.reelbusycharters.com
