Dolphin and Tuna Time

Welcome aboard the Reel Busy and to our St. Lucie Inlet fishing Report.  The dolphin fishing’s been getting better and  the Blackfin Tuna are stacking up around the hill.

The constantly changing  winds have kept the weeds and dolphin scattered about so we’ve been catching dolphin in 75 feet of water one day and 400 to 600 the next.  There’s allot of small dolphin some days but there’s also allot of 20 to 30 pound dolphin being caught .  We’ve got a few days before it starts to blow so get out there this weekend and catch some dolphin.

The tuna fishing on and around the hill has been good to excellent although we’ve been throwing back as many as we’re keeping. There’s no size limit on them but there’s not much meat on a 2 pound tuna and it’ll be 4 or 5 pounds when it returns next year. We caught another 15 pound blackfin on the hill last week so there’s a few big ones around for the lucky angler.

Kingfish have started showing up in numbers and there’s still a few sailfish scattered about the offshore reefs and wrecks. The cobia got hammered pretty good for the last couple of weeks and the cobia bite slowed a bit but the next wave of cobia is on the way and it’ll pick back up.

It’s a great time of year for some Stuart Florida Fishing so get offshore and catch some fish. Good Luck, we’ll see you out there. Capt. Wayne Brodeur, Reel Busy Charters 772-341-6609 IMG_1778001
