Dolphin, Tuna and sailfish

Welcome aboard the REEL BUSY and to our St. Lucie Inlet Fishing Report. Consecutive cold fronts the last few weeks has kept things mixed up delivering hit and miss catches but the sailfish are on the move and February’s looking good.

The dolphin fishing’s been inconsistent, one day it’s great and the next day it’s a struggle to catch a couple. Most of the dolphin we’ve been catching are 7 to 10 pounds with a couple about 20 . We’ve had our best dolphin action north of the inlet but our biggest dolphin have come south of the inlet off the loran tower.

There’s been a decent Blackfin Tuna bite about 16 miles north of the inlet near the Mulliphen. It’s been inconsistent but plentiful when they want to play the game.

The sailfish action’s been poor for most of January but there’s been allot more sails showing up the last week or so. The cold fronts have the sailfish on the move so any day can be an epic day and most days should deliver 3 to 5 opportunities.

Acres of sardines, threadfins and horn bellies should start showing up soon and that means packs of cobia as well.

Stuart Florida fishing should be excellent over the coming weeks so get out there and catch fish. Capt. Wayne Brodeur 772-341-6609 Reel Busy Charters
