Had an opportunity to fish with a close friend Mike and lovely first mate Susan on Friday. Caught the weather window between cold fronts and the timing worked out pretty well. Light northwest winds in the morning but there was every bit of a five foot swell still persistent from the northeast. Anchored up on a favorite 100 foot spot and got the chum going. With the stern pointing East we did have a couple hairy moments contending with the swell at first, with water over the transom. We settled out and commenced getting baits in the water. The bite was on from the first bait hitting the bottom...small fish at first. We worked our way through various species and picked a few keepers over the four hours we fished, then took a break to have a nice lunch. Last fish of the day was a nice, fat 30 pound cobia. What a great way to end the day!
