Was planning on a full crew this morning but only my daughter Jamie showed up. We got an early start an arrived at the dock before 5am. Headed out in search of some baits. Found dirty water even though it was high tide. Must be due to the storm that rolled through hear.

We finally started boating some baits around 6am and it was none stop from then on. Here are some of the large schools of Sardines at Bullshark this morning.

While keeping an eye on the storms south of us we headed east. We hit 100ft and spotted something off in the distance. As we pull up we found it to be a balloon. Congrats Jamie on saving a sea turtle today…

Next up in 200ft we spot something green floating off the Starboard side. Jamie catches this for her son Landen. Nice catch Jamie… I won’t have to filet that one. 

A few more miles east and we spot another sea turtle killer. Jamie is the master at saving the turtles today. This one came from West Palm Beach…

We get to the Hill and make a drift about a mile west of it on some large mats of weeds. Nothing chewing here so we continued east. We spot this in 600ft on a weedline but not much bait underneath.

We worked it a bit but nothing showing up except this Rainbow.

And this barge…

After making it out to 1200ft and working numerous large mats of weeds with no bait underneath them we headed back west. Made a quick stop at the AJ spot but nothing chewing there either.

We stopped at the 6 mile reef and made a drift here and quickly put Jamie on something other than balloons.

After a quick fight she brings this Bonita on board.

A quick drop into the fish box and it is off to the Sandpile in hopes of a cobia. After anchoring up we sliced up the bonita and hung it off the corner. It wasn’t long and we had a fish on but it came unglued.

Jamie catches an overgrown Blue Runner that we released instead of using for shark bait. After another fish on an lost we called it a day.

Today’s Tally
1 Bonita
1 Large Blue Runner
5 Balloons – Turtles will Thank You Jamie.

How did you all make out today?
