Boaters Please Read – Terrifying experience

Terrifying experience…9:30am this morning 5/24/14 - Your GPS isn’t worth killing people - My Wife and I were out fishing this morning at FPL #1. Drifting along as most of the boats do there. I looked up as a 25 + foot, I believe a Mako Dual Engines, Tee Top white vessel, with 6 or more people on board headed right for our boat. At approximately 200 feet I started getting worried. At 150 feet My Wife and I started screaming at the vessel heading right for us broadside. Roughly 10 + knots. A passenger on the vessel screamed at the so called Captain of the vessel to turn fast. Let me tell you I have never in my life seen Prop Wash 25 feet from my boat. You know who you are. I don't or I would of reported your numbers.

*** To all boaters this summer season. I call them weekend warriors…..your GPS Chart Plotter isn’t a television screen – “ pay very closed attention to who is around you at all times” !!!

You probably would of killed us this morning.

Then the so call Captain stated – “Opps I’m sorry” - not even bothering to stop, like he didn't even care. I can’t write here what I screamed at him. Needles to say we headed in back to our Marina. I’m done boating till Memorial Day Weekend is over. This is the very 1st time this has ever happened to me with 25 plus years on the water.
