| The recent Martin County Commission Meeting with the Coast Guard and the Corps of Engineers regarding St. Lucie Inlet dredging did not provide closure on how or when the dredge work to restore the St. Lucie Inlet would be carried out. The Coast Guard here-to-fore will commence locating buoys to indicate “best water” and will publish a Notice to Mariners that local knowledge will be required to safely navigate the Inlet. Officials who attended the meeting suggested that boaters keep up the letter writing campaign to our US Congressmen and Senators which was started last September, urging them to find a solution to this dilemma.
