Full Report: |
February proved to be a tough month for off shore fishing and the most recent reports continue to indicate more of the same to come. Lemon and spinner sharks are being caught with some degree of regularity anywhere from 100' - 400' of water up and down the local coast and mixed in are an occassional dolphin (deep) and sailfish (shallow). Live bait is becoming more available than it has been for the last 3-4 weeks but its usage hasn't increased hookup rates appreciably over dead trolled baits. A highlight has been the report of 1 blue and 2 white marlins caught over the past several weeks in the waters typically fished for dolphin. The recent front which moved through and the pretty good sea forecast for this upcoming week may hold promise, however, for improvements. Let's hope so.
